The school was renamed as Japan Electronic Engineering Academy |
| 1976 |
 As the School Education Law Article 82-2 was enacted, establishment of specialized course for engineering / art was approved.The school was then renamed as Japan Specialized School for Engineering |

Nippon Engineering Collage in Hokkaido was opened in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido |
| 1986 |
Tokyo University of Technology was opened in Hachioji, Tokyo |
| 1987 |
 Nippon Engineering Collage of Hachioji was opened in Hachioji, Tokyo |
| 1993 | Graduate School of Tokyo University of Engineering was opened |
| 1997 | The name of the school corporation was changed to Katayanagi Institute, in commemoration of 50th anniversary |
| 2001 | Nippon Engineering Collage newly opened its School of Medical Services |
