Tokyo University of Technology Signs Agreement with the University of Florida to Strengthen International Collaboration in AI
Promoting joint research on AI and digital twins, as well as student and faculty exchanges
Tokyo University of Technology (Hachioji, Tokyo; President: Yutaka Kagawa) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida, USA) on August 27 to establish international academic collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This agreement involves Tokyo University of Technology’s “AI Technology Center” and “Digital Twin Center,” together with the University of Florida’s “Artificial Intelligence Academic Initiative Center (AI² Center)” as partner institutions. Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to strengthen international education and research networks in AI and its application areas, foster world-leading AI talent, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
On August 27, 2025, Professor Soichiro Ikuno, Director of the Digital Twin Center, and Professor Kenichiro Sekine, Director of the Applied Research Collaboration Center, visited the University of Florida. They participated in the signing ceremony and engaged in discussions on future joint research and collaborative projects.
Under its “AI University” initiative, Tokyo University of Technology has established academic partnerships with NVIDIA (USA). This fall, the university will launch full-scale operations of Japan’s largest AI supercomputer at a private university—the NVIDIA DGX™ B200. Through collaboration with domestic and international research institutions and companies, the university will continue to promote advanced AI education and research.
